Away I go

I'll be traveling over the next two weeks to the Northeast for a little family vacation. We will be visiting a world of places in a short time span. I can't wait!

Along the way we will encounter:
Cedar Point (voted #1 theme park)
Niagara Falls
Cooperstown
Boston
NYC, namely Manhattan and the Bronx
Philadelphia
Washington D.C.

It should be an exciting time. I got in about 11 OT's to finance it because we all know NYC tourism isn't cheap. It'll be well worth the time though. I'm flying out at 2:30PM to KMCI aiport in KC, Missouri to meet up with the fam.

I've got a new digital camera and a camcorder to get the footage. Look for plenty of pics on facebook of my vaca by mid-July!! Which is also my birthday month. Whoopie... my 23rd... whoopie.

Keep Texas sharp while I'm gone...

Awake? Yet half asleep...

One of the most interesting things in the dreamworld is that place between awake and asleep. The time that you wake up yet don't wake up; Look around and see the room, sense what is happening, but have no control over your body. It's almost scary sometimes. I remember it happening when I was a kid and literally trying to scream for help with nothing coming out. I could see my bed, my fish tank, my dresser, moving my eyes around, but no control over functions. Why do we do this?? It's an interesting topic that I want to research. Basically, dreams in general.

Dreams are an undiscovered treasure. I believe that our dreams hold our inner most feelings, thoughts, and ideals. If we could capture what is illustrated in our dreams I believe we could begin to understand more intricate details about the human mind. Not only that but ourselves as well. Jung wrote a great deal of manuscripts on dreams and their interpretations. Also, the Bible proves that God values dreams as well. He used this powerful tool to prophesy to individuals, either for that individual or as a word for another.

Most of the time, we don't even remember our dreams. Could you imagine if everybody managed to remember every single dream that we had? I bet our mindset in the mornings would make a lot more sense if we knew. I've been mad at somebody for something I dreamt about them. I've thought I ran an errand because I did it in my sleep. The mind never stops. It always is running full steam ahead, playing tricks on us as we go through each day. Do we really know what we know, or is it another trick that our mind is playing on us? How do you know last week you took a test? Maybe your memory glitched and deposited a dream as a real occurrence. Would you really know any difference? Isn't that what happens when we become old? Our perception of our imagination and reality are twisted. Makes you think ehh?

Sometimes, the spirit mind can get trapped in between being awake or asleep. We have a visual of the world, we know what we want from it and what we want to accomplish. We will give money to the hopeless, talk about Christ to the weary, spend our time achieving life's most satifying offer: love. We will be saints, free of lust, greed, pride and selfishness. But when does will become now? Do we stay half asleep just thinking about the things we could accomplish in this lifetime without the functions necessary to act them out?

Stuck in between.

Is there a grey area? I think we make up that illustrious grey area to satisfy ourselves. It keeps us happy. We're not evil, we just don't feel like doing any good right now. Tomorrow I'm going to save the world, but today I'm going to satisfy my wants. After all, I'm truly a good person, I just think that I'll do what I want right now. But, tomorrow I'll be different.

When tomorrow becomes today, that will be a glorious time. A day of rejoicing from the Heavens, because God knows we all fit this mold. 100% of us at one time fit this mold. Sinners. Convicted and mercifully forgiven.

Opportunites come and opportunities go. Don't be stuck half asleep thinking about what could be done when they do come. Awake from the apathetic slumber and put God's gifts inside you into action.
